Easy to make whole grain bread in just a few minutes with amazing and unique methods learn step by step in this post
You couldn't believe how easy it is to make homemade wheat bread!  This recipe makes it soft and is perfect for sandwiches.

Have you ever made homemade bread?

Let me say that this is one of the most rewarding things for me.  It can be a labor of love, but there is something satisfying about it.  It is guaranteed to make you feel super-proud!

And honestly, the taste cannot be beaten.  Much better than store-bought!

I have a lot of bread recipes on this site, such as homemade crescent rolls, this cinnamon bread, and these soft overnight brioche buns, but the most versatile, everyday recipe will be made from this soft wheat bread.  In my family, this is for us!

We like it very much because it is slightly nutritious with whole grains.  It really is a perfect bread!

  Is it perfectly healthy?

Bread is carbs, there is no way around it.  Even when it is 100% whole wheat!

But wheat bread is definitely a healthier option because whole wheat flour has a lot more fiber and nutrition than more processed white flour.

How to make how to eat soft bread

Making homemade bread can often seem a bit intimidating, but I promise you, this recipe is so easy.  You will make your own bread every week!

Start by dissolving your yeast in a little warm water.  It usually takes about 5 minutes.

Once you look a little cute, throw in honey and butter.  Then add only 2 cups all-purpose flour.

Beat that for about 3 minutes, then slowly add in more flour until you see the dough forming a ball.  Once the dough ball is pulling cleanly from the sides of the bowl, it is time to knead it.

You can knead this bread dough by hand, or let your mixer work for you.  I like to fist with my hands.  But sometimes I am too busy and I leave it in the mixer so that I can do other things.  Either way will work!

After kneading for about 10 minutes, you will notice that the dough looks really smooth and elastic.  Simply mist your mixing bowl with a non-stick spray, pop in the flour, put gauze on it as well, cover with plastic wrap and allow it to proof (aka rising).

After about 30 to 45 minutes, you will see that the dough has doubled than before.  Push it down, make it into the shape of a loaf, cover, and let it rise a second time.

Bake the bread until it turns golden brown and gives a hollow sound when tapped.

Apart from simply eating it hot from the oven, this homemade bread can be enjoyed in so many ways.

It is perfect for sandwiches due to their soft, pillowy texture.

And it explodes beautifully!  I like to dilute it with butter and give it a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar, or a swipe of jam.  Plus a cup of hot, milky tea and I am in heaven.

You can also use it as a base for your avocado toast!

If you find that your remaining pieces have begun to dry slightly, use them for French toast or bread pudding, or place them in a food processor to make bread crumbs.

  Without which bread

To make a vegan version of this soft wheat bread, simply remove the butter for a vegetarian butter substitute.  Dairy swaps 1: 1 for butter.

And honey can be replaced with equal amounts of brown sugar or agave nectar.

  How long does it last?

Homemade bread does not survive until the store is purchased, and because it does not have all the same preservatives to keep it shelf-stable.

Once this bread is completely cooled, keep it in a plastic bag to keep it from drying out.  Then keep in the fridge.  This should last at least a week.

You can also freeze it!  I recommend slicing it first, that way you can grab a slice or two from the freezer whenever needed.  It threads very quickly.  The temporary location of the room will probably take only half an hour, or you can pop it in the microwave for about 10 or 15 seconds.

Have a homemade meal with your family this week!  It is easy, fun, and very tasty!
